HOLLIS BROWN THORNTON

I realize that these images may come as a shock for some of you, seeing as how I’m sure somewhere there are VHS tapes and cassette tapes buried underground in some early hipster time capsules.

But Hollis Brown Thornton ’s paintings (yup, they’re paintings; acrylic on canvas) take me back - like Rob Sheffield Love is like a Mixtape back. He says the main drive of his work is “to explore the convergence of past ideas into modern sensibilities”…yeah, I dig that.
