Reporter: What irritates you most about your work in Hollywood?
Paul Newman: The fact that a lot of positions of importance are filled by idiots. And though there is a great concentration of talent in Hollywood, this talent is not always used to the best advantage.
Reporter: Anything else?
Paul Newman: Yes, the hypocrisy which some people try to foist off on you in the name of the business. I’d rather die than lie, and yet the studio often asks you to do that very thing to create a false impression with the public.
